Since there are several different ways you can
develop
kidney stones there is no
magical cure or tip to address all situations. You
need to ask yourself some questions that may require
your doctor to answer, those being what kind of
stones do you have? What is the cause? There are
some adjustments you can make to your diet that can
help you now and in the future because if you have
had stones in the past the guesses are good you will
have them again:
1. The number one thing you can
do to help your cause no matter what the case is and
that is to drink more water, lots of water. This is
good advice no matter what your health situation is.
2. Be careful what type and doses you are taking
of certain vitamins because they can cause an
increase in oxalate levels which promotes kidney
stones.
3. Another common sense approach is to control
the amount of animal proteins in your diet along
with the amount of processed foods you consume. If
you notice a lot this commons sense approach will
help anyone.
4. Your intake of calcium is important as well
but it cannot be a guessing game it is important
that you take into consideration your age, sex and
several other factors that only your doctor can
advise on. Your doctor can determine your needs and
recommend your approach.
5. Along with the processed foods it is wise to
control your sugar intake as well; it is no secret
that too much sugar can cause a whole host of health
problems.
6. Lastly it is wise not to consume foods that
irritate the kidneys, such as alcoholic beverages,
extra spicy foods and certain vegetables, eating the
foods that irritate is like poking at a grizzly bear
with a short stick, you are going to get yourself in
trouble!
